Comments: What a wonderful idea!! My daughter came to me this year and said she wanted to enter a pageant. I had the application sent to us. Only to find out that just the fees would be Approximately $2000.00 just to enter. Not to mention the travel costs and gowns,clothing,hotels,food,time off etc.
I felt so badly and cried later when I had to tell her I could not afford these costs and that she would always be my Princess. Being a divorced mother has it's challenges.
Thank you,thank you for having your competion. what a good opportunity for girls to shine not only for outer beauty but for inner beauty and achievements. This is a positive self esteem builder. Which will encourage competing girls to become involved in helping in their communities and others. I will enter my daughter in your competition and keep my fingers crossed.Perhaps I may try as well.

Comments: As the Maine State Queen, I sit here eagerly awaiting the results of the Nationals. I cannot recommend the Miss American Rose pageant system highly enough. For younger girls(and boys in the Prince comp), it is a fantastic esteem builder, and the work needed to attain a title helps form a great work ethic. It is a huge source of pride, no matter who you are or where you live. It is not just about being pretty/handsome. It is about being a good, decent and abiding citizen. It is about faith, not just in oneself but in others. It is keeping the MAR pride in your heart, holding your head high, with kind words to all and representing the tiara and sash to the best of your ability, We (MAR Royalty and all associated with the pageant)are an extended family, supporting each other, cheering each other on. Comments: I would like to say that, from what I can
see, by looking at the online applications, this pageant seems to be the
type of pageant that gives girls/woman a chance to compete from their
inner beauty, and not "Just a pretty face.". I intend on entering the Miss
World Rose competition.
I am greatful that an online pageant of this nature is available. With the
cost of traveling, stay at a hotel, clothing, etc. it is not easy to
attend a live pageant. Let alone, from what I've seen through doing
pageants with my daughter, they don't look at what is most important, what
the contestant is made of, on the inside.

titleholders would give a Princess Party!! I had one in November for a
little girl who is in reahab following an accident. I have mailed two
Parties-in-a-box this year as well, one to a two year old with cancer and
one to a newborn who was in an ICU. The website has changed:

We now have an new free award to give: a Heart of Gold award to anyone who
has overcome an obstacle and gone on to help someone else in a similar
situation. The first two of these awards were presented this summer as
part of a county fair queen pageant.

great for children just starting to get interested in pageants. It looks
as if it gives them a fair and fun opportunity of actually getting to be a
winner for what they actually have accomplished and for what they enjoy to
do!!! It is also great for places that are small and don't have a whole
lot of pageants in the area for a child to participate in and it is great
for someone who cannot afford to do all the traveling with usual pageants.

It is so great to hear from all of you. I have been very busy lately and haven't been home since the beginning of June. However, I am very glad I finally was able to check in.

Comments: I like Miss American Rose pageants. It is somewhat different from the pageants I attended. I like it because it looks at the total person. It also develops leadership. I like it when my mom and I do stuff together. We spend time together. It is a lot of work but it is worth it. My mom, my supporters and I are all happy with what we are doing. My supporters say that "American Rose Pageants develop children to be humanitarian leaders".

On Saturday, I volunteered with Helping Hands, a volunteer group on campus, and we went to an at risk childrens program. We played with the children and did learning activities with them. We also ate lunch with them. It was lots of fun and I hope to do it again soon. I also did sorority rush last week, which was lots of fun. He has had it for two years and two months and is now going into the care of Hospice.
