Comments: Hi Everyone! I just wanted to take a moment to post, and let everyone know that I am thinking of them. I've been very busy with my sorority and school! I am very excited about both. I had been attending a local technical school for night classes in business. We had a carrer fair about a month ago, and there were several career councilors whom I spoke with. I realized that my calling was not only in business but in cosmetology. I love doing make-up *I worked for Merle Norman for 4 years!*, waxing, nails- you name it, I LOVE IT! So I changed my major, and now I'm going for cosmetology. I'm very excited about this opportunity! I'm doing very well in my classes, and in one year I'll have my Cosmetology and Instructor license. At that point I'm going to go back to college for a business degree so that I can properly run and manage my own shop! How exciting!
I'm also excited about my sorority, it's really taking off! For those of you who don't know, I'm a member of Delta Nu internet sorority. We perform community service projects, locally, state as well as nation wide! It's a great feeling knowing that you're giving something back to your community while making life-long friendships. Any woman 18 and older is welcome to join. Please feel free to stop by, and if'd you like- join! We'd be pleased to have you!.

I want to tell some good news, to put in the announcements/section! (This information may be super helpful to parents in Texas whose kids are musicaly talented.) I have been elected to the Board of Directors for Virtuosi of Houston. The youth chamber ensemble - - the only such group of its kind - - is a real United Nations; the kids come from every ethnic background, shape, size and color. The Board of Directors oversees an annual Concerto Competition Scholarship; funds are restricted for use towards a new instrument, music lessons, music camp or future college-level musical education. Comments: Good Morning Miss American Rose families! I mailed in my state competition entry this week. I am very excited! I just wanted to say hello to everyone. Miss American Rose Liberty Twp. City Queen! My prayers continue to about those people who died in the WTC. This evening my Junior Girl Scouts are writing letters to the policeman and firemen who are still working there. My mom says that we as Americans need to struck together and stand up and protect each other from world terrorism. Both my mom and dad were in the United States Navy. My dad flew F-14's and my mom was a dental hygienist. I am very proud to have them both as my parents because they were in the war in 1991. I am very proud to be a member of the Miss AMERICAN Rose family.

Comments: I just received all my beautiful prizes! I am so excited and can't wait for the state competition. I am currently working on a special project for the fire fighters, doctors and nurses, and families of the victims in New York. I work at a day care and my class is making buttons in red, white, and blue for the people associated in the help effort for the tragedy. We have so far made over 400 and hope to make at least 1000. My aunt is a nurse at a hospital in Manhattan and she told me to let everyone know that anything you can do to help is more than appreciated. I urge everyone to continue to pray not only for the families involved but the doctors and nurses that are giving their time to help in this tragedy as well.

Comments: September 11th was such a tragic day for all of us. I wanted to help any way I could. Being a senior in high school living in the mid-west limited my abilities. I gave blood over the summer and am not eligible again until the end of this month. I remembered I had saved some money to go towards my homecoming dress and decided to send it in to help the people in New York and Washington D. C. I have other dresses and in light of the current situation it seems so trivial to need another one. I know not everyone is in a position to do this and I don't expect everyone to follow suit.
